When I Look At My Daughter
xaria + mecoh + layla, goddaughter
I look at my daughter and I see a future as bright as the light she infuses into each day and every interaction.
I see my mother a brave & courageous woman from the Philippines who immigrated to Canada after marrying my father. I see my father, an adventurous small town Canadian man with a generous soul & kind heart. I see her father, a young African American man who isn't afraid to dance to his own drum. I see his mother, a strong & bold, Brooklyn-born woman. I see myself, in her wild & free nature.

Isn't it all so beautiful?
Humans from across the globe created this little soul. She is a mosaic all those who came before her. a collection of cultures, races, religions, beliefs, traditions and dreams. She is a story of diversity.
This is our story. It is diversity & unity that is our strength.
In a time when the world is at a loss, when bigotry & ignorance is rampant and people are scared.

It is her.
Her story. Our story.
Her light. Our light.
Her love. Our love.
That will make the world a better place.
Be human. Love humans.
with gratitude. mecoh
